Concours Weekend - aka Intermarque Concours d'Elegance

The Classic Car Show weekend has come around quickly.  Here's a peek at last years event.

On Sunday 12 February 2012 some 700 owners representing over 70 classic car clubs will gather at Ellerslie Race Course to share their enthusiasm, promote their clubs, and compete in friendly competition.

Highlight of this annual event is the Intermarque Concours d'Elegance Award for the country's best classic vehicle restoration, with awards also for club entries, themed club displays, and motorkhana competition. The Club display theme this year is "Power of the marque" reflecting the influences and perceptions of marques that have contributed to motoring history.

The Fraser Car Club are getting a group together to showcase the Fraser marque. There is always a superb display of vehicles so if you're in or near Auckland for the weekend head along.

Handcrafted - the word is used daily at the Fraser factory.  The skilled team handcraft bespoke Lotus 7 replicas.  These are works of art to look at and are the most incredible experience to drive.

This photo illustrates what was happening at the factory today.

This Fraser is being handcrafted for a gentleman in Christchurch, New Zealand. The Fraser team send him weekly progress photos.  This Fraser will have a 3SGTE powering it.  The owner is aiming for 500hp.

I can't stop looking at those patterns on the wall behind the build.

Kit Car Track Day | Taupo 2012

The Fraser Car Club are looking forward to an action packed day at Taupo Motorsport Park on Saturday 25 February 2012.

This year is going to be bigger and better than ever.

The Track Day is open to members of the Fraser Car Club. If you would like to become a member of the club and join in the fun email ida@fraser.co.nz and you will be sent a membership form and contact details of the club. Membership is only $25 per year.

This annual event is a great way to experience Frasers and other Lotus 7s and replicas on mass.  If you are keen to come and look at the cars and chat to the owners, you are most welcome.

There is a small grid of tintop cars that join in the fun too.

Fraser Cars will be taking a small number of passengers for a Fraser experience on the track in the demo car.  Contact info@fraser.co.nz asap for details, or to make a booking.

Anniversary Weekend Mystery Run

Anniversary Day, Monday 30th meet at my house by 12 noon for a run in the country.
Afternoon tea by the beach.

Auckland Car Club - Airforce Experience

On Saturday 21 Jan it is “Wash and polish” your Fraser day....(At your house).
Top and bottom, side and wheels. Polish your ali if you have some.
Rub the rubber, dust the dash, fancy the fabric.

Sunday 22 Jan.   Weather permitting of course.
Be at my place (email ida@fraser.co.nz for address) 11.00  for a convoy drive to RNZAF Base Whenuapai.
Where we will converge at 5 Squadron hanger for some photo opportunities, group and singular with an Orion P3 sub hunter as the back drop.
A picture of SLVTOP done December last year is above this post as an example.
We may have use of an official RNZAF Photographer to take some shots but bring your own Box Brownies as well.
Intention is for single car and whole group poses and I will submit to Classic Car magazine for publication if they wish.
 
Prerequisites:

1.       Drivers and passengers to have photo ID for base access ( passport or driving license ).
2.       Warning: There is strictly no smoking on the Flight line. Speed on Base roads is limited to  30Km radar enforced... and on the Flight Line speed is limited to walking pace.
3.       Form up in three’s, toes to the line and I will march you over to.... only joking.
4.       Your car will be inspected as you drive on to the flight line for FOD. ( pebbles sticking to tyres etc, are an aircraft hazard )
5.       Car numbers are limited to 10 only so essential that you RSVP to me as quick as you can or you may miss out, first in first served.
6.       Strictly No Touch on the Aeroplane(s) or any ground equipment.
 
At the conclusion we will convoy back to my place for a BBQ!!!
So bring some Sausages and a drink etc, Salad and rolls provided.

Luggage rack for Lotus 7

Had to laugh when we opened this email entitled 'Good use of the luggage rack' from a couple travelling around the South Island of New Zealand in their Fraser.

CannonBall Run 2012

Waaa hooooo it's that time of year soon, the date and theme are set...  It's CannonBall Run time - Saturday 7th January 2012.  The Fraser Team had a total blast last year, you can read about it here.

This year the CannonBall Run is all about Heroes & Villains, check out the information page on the Auckland Motorsport Website here.

The most exciting news (besides having a blast around the track at Hampton Downs on the day) is that Big V has put up a challenge to get as many Frasers involved as possible, you'll be rewarded if you join in the fun.
